St Mary's Court Care Home, Braintree, Essex

Explore the house and gardens at St Mary’s Court residential and nursing care home

St Mary’s Court was purpose built as a care home in 2008 and is divided into small specialist units so that every resident receives exactly the support they need. Our home is spacious, airy and quiet with pleasant communal areas, and everyone who lives here has their own large room with en-suite shower and toilet.

We are always happy for people to bring their own possessions from home so that you can really make your room your own. We designed our home to help people to maintain their independence, so our décor, signage, furniture and equipment are chosen to make moving around and understanding the environment as easy as possible. Please view our photo galleries.

Set in beautiful grounds

St Mary’s Court is set in a beautiful 6.5-acre gated estate, with gardens and woodland, patios, a croquet lawn, a potager, chickens, and a barbecue we use for our summer activities. We have a secure garden attached to our unit for people with early onset dementia, and we enjoy spending as much time as possible outside. There is plenty of free parking for visitors, and a children’s play area in the garden.

Testimonials

I just wanted to say thank God there are people like you working in the care system that give us the knowledge that not everyone is bad. I thank my lucky stars that you were on Ash unit to look after Ian and care and protect him. Now I truly know you are my guardian angel.

Ian is at home this weekend. He doesn’t speak much now, just the odd word, but he likes me to sing to him and he tries to join in. I don’t think we will be hitting the big time with our voices!!!! I just love being around him – he is my hero and I love him. I hope you and your family are well and happy. Thank you for being you. Lots of love, Jane”

Jane - Wife of a resident

“The staff are not only professional in their approach, they are also very personable and it’s clear they do actually care above all else. The facilities and organisation are first rate. The buildings and grounds are well maintained and reflect the high standards of care taken throughout the care village. My wife’s dignity is respected at all times and her comfort is always the main focus.”

Matthew - Husband of resident

“I’ve been at the home for nearly 18 months, I know what it’s all about and would recommend the above home because I like it very much and I’m happy here.”
