Dining is such an important part of daily life at St Mary’s Court and we know how important high quality food and drink is to our residents.

Our Head Chef, Paul Westall, was a finalist at both The National Care Awards 2016 and The Great British Care Awards, East of England, 2016. In 2015 he won The Care Home Nutrition and Hydration Award in The Great British Care Awards, East of England Region, for his work with the team at our sister home The New Deanery. We provide first-class dining as part of our all-inclusive packages.

We have also been awarded the top Food Hygiene Rating by the Food Standards Agency, reassuring you that we follow the highest food hygiene standards in our kitchens.

Working with our residents

Our head chef Paul and his team create a broad menu of delicious and nutritious, home-cooked food and drink, working closely with each resident to ensure they get fantastic meals, snacks and drinks to fully support their overall health and well-being.

Our recent CQC report praised the food at St Mary’s Court, with the inspector stating: “People experienced the pleasure of good food that suited their needs, with people who needed a soft diet having food that was presented using moulds so that different foods were separate and looked like real food was intended to.”  CQC report April 2016

If you don’t fancy what’s available that day there are alternatives you can ask for at any time.

Catering to your requirements

The catering team has regular trips to the supermarket to pick up people’s favourite foods and if you fancy a glass of wine or a beer with a meal that’s no problem, as alcoholic drinks are included in our all-inclusive packages.

Entertaining at St Mary’s Court

We can also provide food and drink for entertaining guests, so whether you want to hold a celebration in the Tudor Banqueting Suite at the neighbouring New Deanery or enjoy tea and cakes in one of the lounges or the garden, it is all covered by our all-inclusive packages.
