Sonnet Care Homes is committed to ensuring that your privacy is  protected. We will continue to comply with the provisions of the Data Protection Act (“DPA”) until 25 May 2018, after which we will comply with the General Data Protection Regulation ((EU) 2016/679) (“GDPR”) unless and until the GDPR is no longer directly applicable in the UK, together with any national implementing laws, regulations and secondary legislation as amended or updated from time to time in the UK, and any successor legislation to the GDPR and the DPA (together “Data Protection Legislation”).

What information does Sonnet Care Homes hold and how will we use it?

Information you give Sonnet Care Homes: You may give us information about you by completing enquiry forms on the website or by requesting via the website that we send you marketing information, or by applying for or enquiring about employment with Sonnet Care Homes. We will retain this information while we are corresponding with you or providing services to you or to a Service User you represent. We will retain this information for eight years beyond the end of your contract of residency or six years beyond the end of your contract of employment, as applicable. If you do not enter into a contract of employment or residency we will retain this information for one year, we do this to allow us to review admission and employment decisions in the event of a complaint or repeat contact.

Information Sonnet Care Homes collects about you: Sonnet Care Homes may collect the following information from you when you visit the website:

• Technical information, including the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform; and
• Information about your visit, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL), clickstream to, through and from the website (including date and time), products you viewed or searched for, page response times, website errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, methods used to browse away from the page and any phone number used to call our helpline

We retain this information for one year.

Information we receive from other sources: This includes information we receive about you when you use other websites operated by us or other services we provide. This information may include your name, email address, postal address and phone number. We will retain this information for one year.

Data sharing during COVID-19 pandemic

Visitors (including contractors)
It is a legal requirement of NHS Test and Trace that we collect names and contact details for all visitors to our care homes. This information is retained in hard copy only for 21 days and then securely destroyed. In the event of an outbreak at the home we will share the contact details of any visitors deemed to have close contact with an infected person within 21 days of the first positive case.

For residents and our team
During the pandemic we are required to offer regular testing to our team and our residents. Each test performed is registered in the coronavirus section of www.gov.uk along with the details of the person who has tested. The results of each test and the contact details of the person who has tested are subsequently shared with NHS test and Trace.

Throughout the pandemic we are from time to time required to share team and resident details with public bodies that have a legitimate interest in this information, for example, CQC, PHE, ECC, NHS, CCG including GP practices. To date information requests from these bodies have been in respect of any positive cases of COVID-19 and/or the vaccination programme.
