St Mary’s Court care home in Bocking is praised in latest CQC inspection report

Residents at St Mary's CourtIn the past 15 months, under the ownership of Sonnet Care Homes, St Mary’s Court care home has gone from strength-to-strength and is now rated as ‘good’ overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), with a rating of ‘outstanding’ for leadership.

In the CQC’s latest report (April 2016) the care home was judged to be ‘outstanding’ in the ‘well-led’ section of the report and ‘good’ in the sections which check safety, effectiveness, care and responsiveness.

The care home was last inspected in January 2015 and was previously rated as ‘requires improvement across all of CQC’s criteria.

Julia Clinton, the CEO of Sonnet Care Homes, said:

Whilst we were confident in the significant improvements that have been made by the team at St Mary’s Court, we are extremely pleased that this now set out publicly and in detail in the latest CQC report.

“We have recently received recognition for our leadership and management in the form of a national win at the Skills for Care Accolades Awards. Receiving an ‘outstanding’ rating from CQC for our well-led service further supports this.”
The report stated: “The staff group truly understood and practiced the values of this organisation of Kindness, Comfort and Respect.Resident and member of the team at St Mary's Court

“Staff were highly pro-active in their approach to care. They demonstrated compassion and preserved peoples privacy in every aspect of their work to make people feel valued and supported.

“People received support and care from a staff team who were trained to meet their needs. Training was well managed by a dedicated team within the service.

“People were able to have a varied and interesting life that was supported by sufficient staff for them to access the community and a host of social activities that were widely advertised.”

The onsite team at St Mary’s Court work tirelessly to ensure exemplary 24 hour, high quality care and support for residents and families, and we believe that they and the home thoroughly deserve to be recognised in this way.”
