We are keen to meet experienced Senior Care Assistants to join the award-winning teams at St Mary’s Court. You will have previous experience in a Senior Care Assistant role and be able to demonstrate training and qualifications to at least level 2 NVQ/QCS/QCF in Adult Care.

Job description for Senior Care Assistant

We will fund progression to Lead Adult Care Worker (formerly level 3) if no equivalent qualification is held.

We require Senior Care Assistants to support and oversee the delivery of the highest possible standard of care by:

  • Leading a team of Care Assistants to ensure residents achieve optimal physical, social, emotional and spiritual well-being
  • Promoting resident choice, comfort, dignity and independence
  • Identifying and managing risk in the least restrictive way possible
  • Developing and reviewing person centred care and support plans which fully protect human rights
  • Liaising with visiting professionals including GPs
  • Administering medication and management of medicines

You need to be able to demonstrate a naturally caring and compassionate disposition with the desire and commitment to have a positive impact on the lives of our residents.

  • Encouraging residents to maintain pre-existing hobbies and develop new interests
  • Plan, organise and escort residents on external outings of their choice

“I have been involved in the management and commissioning of homes for 16 years now. My main experience has been in the field of dementia and I consider myself very lucky as I love what I do!

“I am passionate about my role and take the wellbeing, emotional and physical, of the residents in my care very seriously. When I came to The New Deanery I was so impressed at the level of commitment shown by the team who strive to make a difference to people’s lives daily, and the warmth and feeling of “family” that flows here meant that I very quickly came to consider it my home too.”
